A New Space for Learning, Collaboration and Possibilities Inaugurated at Hajipir Army Goodwill School-Trehgam
Trehgam, Kupwara | 29 September 2026
A new chapter in the educational journey of Hajipir Army Goodwill School-Trehgam began today with the formal inauguration and handover of a newly constructed Conference Hall, aimed at creating a dedicated space for learning, dialogue, capacity building and institutional development.
The facility was inaugurated by the Commanding Officer, 41 Rashtriya Rifles (41 RR) in the presence of Sahil Hamid, Zonal Head, IIFL Foundation, Azad Naqashbandi, Director, Kamraz Asian Aid International Foundation (KAAIF), and members of the Foundation.
The newly constructed Conference Hall was formally handed over to the school administration during a ceremony held at the school premises. The facility will provide a much-needed common space for teacher-training programmes, workshops, conferences, academic discussions, orientation programmes, cultural and educational activities, and other institutional engagements.
Beyond being an addition to the school's physical infrastructure, the Conference Hall represents an investment in the people and possibilities that make education meaningful. A well-equipped space where teachers can learn and exchange ideas, where students can participate in discussions and programmes, and where the school community can come together can contribute significantly to creating a more enriching educational environment.
The facility will also enable the school to conduct regular capacity-building and professional development programmes for teachers, creating opportunities for continuous learning and knowledge-sharing. For students, it can serve as a platform for exposure, interaction, creativity and participation beyond the conventional classroom environment.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commanding Officer, 41 RR, appreciated the efforts of IIFL Foundation for extending its support towards strengthening the educational infrastructure of the school. He particularly lauded the Foundation's contribution towards supporting the Indian Army in this noble endeavor of creating better educational opportunities and facilities for children in the region.
He also appreciated the collaborative role played by Kamraz Asian Aid International Foundation (KAAIF) in facilitating the initiative and bringing together different stakeholders around a shared objective of strengthening education and community development.
The school administration expressed its sincere gratitude to IIFL Foundation and KAAIF for their valuable support and contribution towards establishment of the Conference Hall. The school expressed hope that the facility would become a vibrant center for academic exchange, teacher development and student engagement.
The initiative reflects the strength of partnerships between the Indian Army, philanthropic institutions and civil society organisations in addressing community needs and strengthening institutions at the grassroots level. It demonstrates how collective efforts, when guided by a shared commitment to education and the well-being of children, can translate into tangible and lasting community assets.
For the children of Hajipir Army Goodwill School-Trehgam, the new Conference Hall is therefore more than a new room or a new structure. It is a space to learn, to interact, to express, to discover and to dream—and an investment in creating opportunities that can extend well beyond the walls of the school.
The initiative stands as another example of collaborative efforts towards strengthening educational institutions, empowering teachers, nurturing young minds and building a stronger and more hopeful future for the communities of the region.
